Games People Play
As we get closer to the date we can use this location to coordinate who’s bringing what games (as I assume luggage space will be limited for most of us.)
Tour: 4–10 May 2026
Participants
Morning of the 10th we check out of the Novotel and take their shuttle to Montréal-Trudeau International airport, where I have a rental car booked for pick-up at 09:00. Joseph and Me (Dan) are confirmed for the whole tour. Kerry is with us at least as far as Ottawa. Gene is our fourth if he can make it (TBC). Clayton and Joanne are renting their own car and making their own arrangements, but intend to visit the sights in Quebec City and Ottawa with us.
Organization
I'll coordinate car and hotel bookings for the tour, so we have a single point of contact, but this is more a group of friends taking a road trip together than a formal expedition. So, rather than setting a budget and paying up front, I propose we just pay our own meals and share of the gas and hotel expenses as we go. I'll pay for the rental car and divide the bill up on a per-day basis with the other riders. (Total is CAD $440 or about $110 to $150 each depending on how many participants we end up having for how long.)
Itinerary
Here is the current proposed itinerary. Note that Hamilton is off the tour as I received advice — given how much time we have — not to drive through Toronto ("The horror! The horror!"). In consequence, we have an extra day in Quebec City (a good thing) and more time in Ottawa. Kerry recently visited both cities and has kindly volunteered to be tour guide and keep us from getting too lost.
